AJ Pine has become one of my favorite authors and this story did not disappoint!

Here is what I loved about this story:

Realistic characters: Jess and Adam are both college students, but what I love about AJ Pines character development isn't the "typical" NA romance arc's. She is tackling real issues that many 21 year old college students face that never get discussed in romance novels. She should be praised for not shying away. Her use of these complex story lines aren't cheesy or stereotypical.

Great chemistry: I cheered for Jess and Adam, of course. But I loved the friendship relationship with her roommate, Zoe. I also loved the fact that even Adam begins to have a friendship with Zoe as well. And who can forget, Regan, a teenage amputee who Jess works with in her internship? Great chemistry, great dialogue...it works well.

All the feels: I say this often. Story arcs in romance are "typical"--but that shouldn't matter with a strong story and the ability to feel and go through through their "stuff" with them. I felt the hurt Jess feels, the disappointment Adam deals with, and even the excitement and laughter! AJ Pine did a great job of getting the reader connected to the characters.

Overall, this book is not only a winner, but one I look forward to reading again in the future.

AJ Pines stories have become must reads for me. Jess is so broken, she can't see what's right in front of her eyes. Seeing the love story develop between Jess and Adam was both heartbreaking and heart warming. I can't wait for Zoes story.
I am a huge fan of all of the books by AJ Pine and this one did NOT disappoint! I believe the best part of all of her books is how completely relateable all of her characters always are. One Night pulls you in from the first page and takes you on Jess and Adam's adventure and keeps you trying to figure out what is going to happen. As with her previous books, I COMPLETELY fell in love with these characters and couldn't put it down as I was dying to know what happened. Cannot wait for the next book to be released.
A sweet quick read with amazing supporting characters. I absolutely loved Adam, Zoe (Jess' roommate), and Regan (13 year old PT patient). Jess' selfishness and constant retreat became very annoying. Overall a good book. I'm looking forward to reading Zoe's book.
Another amazing book by A.J. Pine. I love Jess! She is a strong, beautiful woman who learns to trust and believe in herself. She is flawed which is wonderful to see. I also love, as other reviewers have stated, that Adam is not a bad boy but is truly a kind, smart, sensitive guy who cares about others. Their story was beautiful as it unfolded. There were certainly times I was screaming at Jess as she made some of her decisions, but even then I was cheering for her and Adam to figure it out. I wish I had known an "Adam" in college! I cannot wait for more books from A.J. Pine.
**4-4.5 stars** This is one of those books that I didn't want to put down. I stayed up late to finish and I don't regret it one bit. I'm such a fan of A.J's books. Adam...well all I can say is; if you're looking for a new book boyfriend, here he is. Loved his character. His personality and the way he sticks by Jess through everything and won't give up on her. Jess has some pretty serious things she needs to heal from and it's a battle, but with a wonderful supporting cast of characters, she's got the support she needs to get there.
Amazing! I've read Pine's other two NA novels and this one did NOT disappoint. I probably flew through this in a day or two, and I'm not a fast reader!

There were several unique aspects of this book that make it really special for me. One Jess's interest in physical therapy and her role at the hospital. I've never read a book where the MC was studying PT, and it was cool to get a quick peek into that world. Two the fact that Adam was a star hoops player. There's something really sexy about a tall, lanky basketball star - especially when he's as sweet and gentle as Adam was.

Thirdly, and most importantly Jess's "secret." In some novels, the main character is hiding some dark secret she doesn't want her new boyfriend to find out, because she thinks he'll dump her as a result. And then usually, you find out the character was being overdramatic or not giving herself (or her partner) enough credit or whatever. That is, the secret's no big deal after all. But in THIS book, I found Jess's "secret" to be serious, compelling, and absolutely something that would keep someone from getting serious with a guy. No spoilers....but I really understood her situation, and I completely understood why she'd become the type of person to avoid commitment. I found her actions totally believable and I FELT for her!

But as Pine's bio says, she likes giving us the happy endings. And this one had me feeling warm and fuzzy. I'd recommend.
Another excellent book from AJ Pine! I don't know how she does it, but Pine's books keep getting better and better. This one is by far my favorite I've read so far, second to If Only.

The emotions I felt while reading this book. Just woah. I could really relate to Jess, especially when I'd suffered from depression as a teen. I honestly just wanted to give her a hug. Her character growth throughout the novel was phenomenal and heart-warming. I'm so happy she got her happily ever after, especially with Adam.

Oh, Adam. You are such a swoon-worthy man. Pine has this great knack for writing beta heroes. Adam is sweet, kind, attentive to Jess's needs. THE. PERFECT. GUY. Sign me up.

The thing that really made this book special, because the amazing romance, of course, is Jess's friendship with Zoe. Zoe was SO funny and relieved a lot of tension when Jess was spiraling. I really cannot wait to learn more about her in the next book in the series!

Bravo, Pine. Bravo. My hat is off to you for writing such an incredible book.
